Hyperlink Policy
Understand how links to external websites are used and what they do not imply.
1. Purpose
Aapka PAN Center is an independent private service-assistance platform. Our purpose is to present PAN-related information in a clear, organised and easy-to-understand manner for people who may need help understanding common processes, document requirements and service steps. The website is not an official portal of the Government of India, the Income Tax Department, Protean eGov Technologies Limited, UTIITSL or any other public authority. References to PAN, tax processes or third-party organisations are made only to explain the subject and do not imply ownership, endorsement, affiliation or official status. This Hyperlink Policy explains why external links may appear on our pages and how users should evaluate them.
2. External Links
We may link to an official, authorised or third-party website when it is useful for reference, verification or completion of a process. A link is provided for convenience and does not mean we control the destination. External websites can change their content, addresses, availability, security settings or terms without notice to us.
3. No Automatic Endorsement
A hyperlink does not automatically mean that Aapka PAN Center endorses every statement, product, service or advertisement on the destination website. Similarly, the existence of a link from another website to us does not prove that we endorse that website. Users should evaluate external information independently and pay attention to the identity of the destination.
4. Official Sources
Where we refer users to an official or authorised source, the purpose is often to encourage verification of current rules or information. Users should check the web address carefully because fraudulent sites can imitate familiar brands. We cannot guarantee the continued accuracy of an external URL after publication, so report a broken or suspicious link through our Contact Us page.
5. Third-Party Privacy
When you follow an external link, the destination's privacy policy, cookies and data practices apply. Do not assume that our Privacy Policy governs information submitted on another website. Before entering PAN details, payment information or other personal data, verify the destination and review its privacy and security information.
6. External Payments
A link may lead to a payment provider or another service involved in a transaction. The provider may have separate fees, terms, refund rules and security controls. Check the amount and recipient before authorising payment. Never share a card PIN or OTP simply because a page was reached through a hyperlink.
7. Availability and Accuracy
We do not control external uptime or the accuracy of third-party pages. A destination may be temporarily unavailable, moved, outdated or restricted by location. If an external source conflicts with general explanatory text on our website and the source is the competent official authority, users should follow the current applicable official requirement.
8. Links to Our Website
Other websites may link to our public pages in a lawful and non-misleading way. A link should not falsely state or imply that Aapka PAN Center is a government portal, an official partner or an endorsed service when that is not true. The surrounding context should not misrepresent our content or conceal our independent status.
9. Framing and Misrepresentation
Do not frame our pages inside another service in a way that hides the original address, removes important notices or creates confusion about ownership. Do not use our name or content to imitate an official authority. We may take reasonable steps to protect users and our rights where linking practices are deceptive or harmful.
10. Advertising Links
If advertising links are displayed, they should be distinguishable from normal navigation and service controls. An advertisement is not an official instruction merely because it appears near PAN-related content. Users should check the advertiser and destination before engaging with an offer. Advertising arrangements, where used, do not change our independent private status.
11. Broken or Unsafe Links
If you encounter a link that appears broken, redirects unexpectedly or seems unsafe, stop before entering personal information and tell us which page contains the link. We can review links under our control, but we cannot guarantee immediate correction of a third-party system. Browser and security warnings should not be ignored merely to complete a process.
12. Contact and Updates
Questions about linking to our website or reports of problematic links can be sent through Contact Us. We may revise this policy as our website, link practices or legal obligations change. The current version published here applies to the public website.
13. Safe Link Practices for Visitors
A hyperlink can make navigation easier, but users should still pay attention to where it leads. Before entering personal information, check the domain shown in the browser and look for unexpected spelling changes, additional words or unusual redirects. Do not assume a page is genuine solely because it uses familiar colours or terminology. If a destination asks for an OTP, banking password or other confidential credential in an unexpected context, stop and verify the request independently. Bookmarking a known official page can reduce the risk of following a misleading search result later. We may update or remove links when we become aware that they are outdated, but external changes can occur without notice. User reports therefore help us maintain a cleaner and safer set of references.
14. Links, Search Engines and User Choice
Users may reach Aapka PAN Center or an external destination through search engines, bookmarks, messages or other websites. Search-result placement does not establish official status, and a sponsored result should not be confused with a government link. Read the page title and domain before proceeding. We cannot control how third parties describe a link to our website, but we do not authorise descriptions that falsely present us as a government authority. If you find such a misleading description, you may report it to us with enough information to locate it. Likewise, when we provide a reference link, users remain free to choose whether to follow it and should review the destination's current information before taking action.
15. Linking Principles
Our general linking principles are relevance, transparency and user safety. A useful link should help a visitor verify information, understand a process or reach a necessary external service without creating confusion about who operates the destination. We prefer descriptive link text over vague wording when practical. We may remove a link that becomes irrelevant, unsafe, misleading or persistently unavailable. Because the internet changes continuously, no hyperlink directory can be guaranteed complete or permanently accurate. The presence or absence of a link should therefore not be treated as a legal recommendation, certification or statement about the quality of an external organisation.
